DHS will soon publish a notice in the Federal Register identifying Haitians whio are eligible for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). This notice will provide a 180 day registration period. Eligible Haitians will be able to apply for TPS status and an employment authorization document (EAD). However, these TPS provisions DO NOT provide any automatic work authorization for eligible Haitians. Thus, the Employment Eligiblity Verification procedures are unaffected by the TPS designation of Haiti.
